Aberfan Canoe Club is an active, friendly, family club based in Aberfan, South Wales, UK. The club is actively involved in canoeing at all levels from recreational to international competition, with some members representing Great Britain at events all over the world. We are affiliated to the Canoe Wales (CW) and the British Canoe Union (BCU) and have over many experienced, nationally qualified coaches who give their time free of charge.
We run club sessions at Aberfan Pool and Taf Bargoed lakes, covering a variety of disciplines. We also run club trips to locations all over the UK, catering for the full range of ages and skill level that we have in the club.
If you are interested in joining the club, or just want to give kayaking a go, our Friday night sessions are for you! All you need to bring is an old t-shirt and regular swimming kit; the club will provide all the equipment you require. Whether you're young or old, have never sat in a boat before or an experienced paddler looking for someone to paddle with, you are welcome to join us. All that we ask is that you are able to swim the length of the pool wearing a buoyancy aid.
For more details, please see the 'Friday' page, under the training tab.
